Acme Seals Group launches Biodegradable Security Seals
As one of the World’s oldest Security Seal manufacturers, Acme Seals continues to strive and change with trends giving latest innovation to all customers.
With the World fully focused on the environmental concerns plastic usage causes, Acme is pleased to launch a new strain of Security Seals being produced in a special biodegradable material. This means once the products come in contact with an environment where microbes are present such as landfills, compost facilities, home compost, soil, oceans, etc, they will begin to biodegrade.
Plastic bottles laying in gutters, plastic bags tangled in branches, food wrappers scuttling across the ground on a windy day. Although such examples of litter easily come to mind, they only hint at the serious and growing problem of plastic pollution, a problem mostly hidden from view.
The problem with plastics is they do not easily degrade. They may break down, but only into smaller pieces. The smaller those pieces get, the more places they can go with many pieces ending up in our oceans. Currently the exact amount of plastic floating throughout the World’s oceans remains a growing mystery with scientists hard at work trying to find out.
Our new range of products made from Biodegradable material will be tested under:
ASTM 5511 – This measures biodegradation in anaerobic conditions prevalent in landfill environments.
In simple words, recycling waste is essential to both the environment and to humans, to sum up, recycling, minimizes the need for raw materials so that the rainforests can be preserved. Great amounts of energy are used when making products from raw materials. Recycling requires much less energy and therefore helps to preserve natural resources. One needs to know the importance of recycling at the same time being earth friendly can help our planet a better place to live in.
